Happy spring! There’s snow in the weekend forecast here in Boston. I’m not happy about it. So, I’m distracting myself with plans to make over my sunroom (three season porch? Is there a difference?). Whatever term you use, it’s my favorite room in the house and I can’t wait for the weather to warm up so I can start using it again.
The sunroom is off the kitchen at the back of the house. It gets loads of sunshine all day long and I love having my morning coffee out there. I also love plugging in the string lights, opening all the windows and having a drink out there on warm nights. Could Rosé season hurry up and get here, please?
My goal for the sunroom is for it to be cozy and inviting. I want to use a mix of different textures and patterns for an eclectic, bohemian look. You can see what the room currently looks like here. I had been going for an Americana look when I originally furnished it last year, but I’m ready for a change. I’d like to soften it up a bit from all the primary colors.
For this makeover, I’m planning to switch out the rug (I really like this one and this one) and add in an oversized palm leaf throw pillow. I’d also like to add some plants and natural greenery to the room. A lot of my inspiration for the makeover has come from the Nate Berkus and Threshold lines at Target. They just released the spring 2017 lines and they have so many great pieces.
I love that you can easily and affordably make over a room by switching out just a few key accent pieces. Target also currently has a home sale going on online – 10% off select home decor with code REFUND.
I’ll be sure to post a picture of the updated sunroom once it’s done. Feel free to weigh in with recommendations if you have any.
