It’s Margarita Monday! Wait, is that not a thing?! Well, it is at my house tonight. We’ve got one more day until
the political ads stop the election and I say we toast to that!
Today I’m sharing my very simple, fail proof recipe for margaritas. Because, let’s be honest, nobody wants a fussy recipe on a Monday. So let’s get to it.
- 2 1/4 cups silver tequila (I used Chianco Blanco)
- 1.5 cups lime juice (about 12 limes)
- 3/4 cup simple syrup*
- 2 tablespoons Cointreau (optional)
Make your simple syrup by dissolving one cup sugar in one cup of water over medium heat. As soon as the sugar dissolves, remove the saucepan from the heat and allow it to cool completely. This can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge. Next, juice your limes. (This is the worst part, but SO worth it, I promise!) Fill your pitcher with ice. Now just pour all of the ingredients into the pitcher and stir. This recipe makes six margaritas so invite some friends over. Or don’t, I won’t judge.
