Bow Mule Slides – Splurge, Spendy, Save

Happy hump day! I hope your week is off to a good start. J and I have a mid-week date planned at the Coit Observatory tonight. I’m so glad we got a clear night. Plus, I’m excited to cross something off my spring bucket list! You could say I’m a little behind. The last month of spring is going to be very active! 😉

Today’s post is a short one, but I’m pretty excited about it. About a month ago, I spotted the cutest bow mule slides on Instagram (on Samantha of Could I Have That?). Turns out they cost almost $500. Don’t you hate it when that happens? I became obsessed with finding a good knock-off. I quickly found a pair for MUCH less (around $100), but it was still more than I wanted to spend for this particular shoe. I kept looking, but all of the dupes that were under $100 weren’t close enough to the original look (i.e. they looked like athletic slides with a bow on them).

Then on a random trip to Target I spotted the perfect pair of bow mule slides for a price I could easily justify. I love them! I mean, they’re totally frivolous (hence why I didn’t want to spend a lot on them), but they’re perfect for going from the beach to happy hour! If you’re looking for a fun summer shoe, I highly recommend a pair of bow mule slides. Shop my picks for each price range below.

The original Valentino slides are definitely more practical because the bow isn’t as big, but overall I’m pretty pleased with this dupe. What was your last successful “look for less” purchase?

  1. Wow, spending $500 on a sandal is a bit excessive! To be honest, I actually like the two cheaper versions better!!

  2. I don’t think I’d ever spend $500 on sandals. Maybe $100 but very unlikely. I’m all about comfort so I am willing to spend for for comfortable shoes.

P.S. I kept getting a spam error trying to post my comment. I had to remove my link.

    1. I’m the same – I’ll spend more for comfort, but that’s about it! Thanks for the heads up – I’ll look into that.
