Oh, Monday, we meet again! How was your weekend? Mine was spent walking around the city, taking photos, and breaking in my new sneakers. I even ate my first lobster roll of the season! It reached into the 80s here on Saturday and it was so nice to be out and about. Every patio in the city was packed!
Today I’m reviewing Glossier’s Phase 2 Makeup set. I’ll preface my review by saying that I’m definitely not a makeup expert. I just enjoy trying new products and I like to keep it simple so Glossier’s promise that they’re “…not out to cover you up, complicate your routine, or make you into someone else,” was very appealing to me. I tend towards very natural makeup so I couldn’t wait to give Glossier a try.
I first heard about Glossier last year when it seemed like every blogger and beauty editor was raving about Boy Brow. It’s supposed to be the holy grail of brow gel so I’ve been dying to try it. I figured if I was going to place an order, I might as well order the full Phase 2 Set. I snagged the set for $40. It arrived last week beautifully packaged.
Glossier’s Phase 2 Set includes Stretch Concealer, Boy Brow, and a matte lip product called Generation G. You can select your shades online. I got the Stretch Concealer in light, Boy Brow in brown (I debated getting black because my brows are very dark brown), and Generation G in Like. I spent the most time choosing between lip colors. They’re all subtle and buildable. Again, the idea seems to be you 2.0 rather than an overly made up face. The Website features a diverse selection of models wearing each of the lip colors so you can study the the model that most closely resembles your own coloring. At least that’s how I made my selection.
I was very happy with the shades I selected. As expected, I really like Boy Brow. It gives a slight tint to your brows while keeping them groomed and in place. I will say though that I like the brush better on Maybelline’s brow gel – it’s rounded and I don’t have to be as careful when applying it.
Glossier’s Stretch Concealer worked magic on my under eye circles. But, the real star for me was the Generation G lip color. I love the idea of lipstick, but it just never looks quite right on me. I’m not sure if that’s due to my small lips or pale skin, but I have trouble finding a color that looks right. Enter Generation G. Like looks as though I bit my lips. It’s my natural lip color amplified. The combination of flawless skin, groomed brows and a subtle lip really does help you put your best face forward. The Glossier Phase 2 products are perfect for anyone looking for a bare, natural look.
I now want to go back and try Phase 1, which includes a cleanser, primer, and balm. All of Glossier’s products are dermatologist tested and free of parabens, fragrance, and alcohol. All ingredients are listed on their Website.
Have you tried Glossier yet? What did you think? I’d love to hear your review in the comments.
